The contract
What Office may say, and what it is built from
Short answer: most of it, not all of it, from the little gray box. GoldLink+ is a gateway. Office is a desk sitting on that stream, Camfil’s filter book, and two years of kept frames. If a sensor is not wired, we print “not wired.” We do not invent a hopper from ΔP.
This is not an official Camfil document. Camfil has not published a public API. Hardware facts below are from their US product page. The jobs are ours.
Who this login is for
Connect is the guy on the floor. Three sentences. Empty this drum. Order these twelve filters. Listen at the air header.
Office is Paul (plant manager) and Dana (EHS), sitting down. They need one screen that answers: are all the collectors actually running, when do we spend on filters, and if an insurer asks, can I export two years instead of a clipboard. They do not want twelve charts. They want the plant.
That is why it costs more than Connect. Not prettier graphs. The person who signs the check and the person who talks to the inspector do not climb the baghouse.
What Camfil already published
Camfil’s current product: a gateway, a cloud, a dashboard, and Jonesboro watching it. The plant still gets a light and a phone call. Office is the desk they do not ship.
How the New GOLDLink+™ Monitoring System Helps to Optimize Dust Collection · posted 2022-07-14 · updated 2024-06-17
camfilapc.com — GOLDLink+ monitoring
Standard on the box
- Filter ΔP (4–20 mA, two ports)
- Ambient temperature
Optional sensors
- Compressed air (leaks)
- Hopper & drum level
- Particulate emissions (filter leaks)
- Airstream temperature & humidity
- Pulse count (faulty valves)
- Airlock zero-speed (plugged rotary)
They sell today
- Any new or existing collector panel
- Cellular LTE/3G, encrypted, not plant Ethernet
- Jonesboro stores the data and alerts when a reading is out of range
- Customer dashboard on phone / laptop / tablet; multi-site comparison
- “Most often, high pressure readings signal that it is time to change out the filter cartridges.”
They do not ship — that is Office
- Three sentences for the night shift
- A filter PO with the SKU from the serial and the date from the slope
- Two-year history as a customer file
- A broker pack labeled “not a DHA”
Do not copy: “Monitor operator exposure risks.” ΔP and a stack sensor are not a breathing-zone measurement. Camfil can market it. Office must not print it as measured.
Four piles of information
Every sentence on the board is one of these. If you cannot point at a pile, do not print the sentence.
Pile 1
The box, as sold
GoldLink+ is a gateway. Out of the panel it digitizes filter ΔP and whatever dry contacts you land on it, then ships that over cellular.
Published hardware: 4–20 mA differential-pressure (two ports), discrete inputs, weatherproof enclosure, internal antenna, worldwide LTE/3G, TLS, not through plant Ethernet. 4 mA is live-zero — a broken wire does not look like an empty hopper. Typical ΔP span: 0–10 in. w.c. Discretes are 0 / 24 V contacts (fan run, pulse, hopper high, airlock, emission alarm) only if the plant electrician landed them. US GoldLink+ is ΔP-first. EMEA GoldLink Connect already reads fan kW/rpm off the inverter; the Office seat still wants that if the panel has it.
Pile 2
Extra sensors, sold separately
Hopper, compressed air, emissions, pulse health, airlock, airstream T/RH. Office will not print a dollar or a drum level unless that loop is on the box.
Each is a 4–20 mA (or zero-speed) add. Typical stack is $400–$1,200 a point on top of the gateway. Connect and Office use the same sensors. The seat does not create a hopper. If sanding at Helix has no air header sensor, Office shows “not wired” — it does not estimate SCFM from ΔP.
Pile 3
Camfil’s file (and the customer’s)
Which filter to order, how many, the price, which housings belong to this plant, whether the dust is combustible. None of that rides on the 4–20 mA.
Join key is the gateway serial / deviceId. From that: housing model, module count, filter SKU and qty, list, AirCair, ship-to, the people. Combustible is the DHA (or the absence of one) sitting in a folder. Office prints it with a label: on file, not measured. Changeout setpoint (in. w.c.) is from the spec, not from the sensor span.
Pile 4
Keeping the frames — this is the Office product
The box does not store two years. Jonesboro (or this app) does. Two-year history, the site board, the broker file, the plant PO — that is storage and grouping, not a new analog loop.
Proposed retention: raw frames 90 days, hourly two years, daily forever. Insights (remaining life, air waste) run on rollups. Connect keeps 90 days because the night shift does not need 2024. Office keeps two years because EHS and the broker do. That retention is why the seat costs more than Connect, even when the sensor stack is identical.
Every sentence Office is allowed to say
If the origin is “never,” we may reprint a file flag with a label. We do not measure it.
| Office says | From | Needs | If missing |
|---|---|---|---|
| This collector is running (or it isn’t). | Wired contact | Fan-run dry contact landed on the gateway. ΔP sitting above live-zero is a backup clue, not proof — a dirty filter with the fan off still holds pressure for a while. | Office shows gateway online, not fan state. Do not tell EHS it ran on Sunday. |
| Filters have about N days. | Base box | Stage-1 ΔP 4–20 mA plus the changeout setpoint from the spec (Camfil file). Slope of daily max ΔP on operating days. | Without ΔP there is no Office. That is the box. |
| Order these twelve Gold Cone X-Flo, SKU GC-XF-26. | Camfil file | Serial → BOM. Date of the PO comes from the ΔP slope. The SKU does not. | Office can say “change filters in 8 days” and stop. It will not guess a bag from a competitor catalog. |
| Hopper is 82%. Empty the drum. | Extra sensor | Hopper / drum 4–20 mA. A hopper-high discrete is a backup alarm, not a percentage. | Hide the number. Print “hopper not wired.” Never infer drum level from ΔP. |
| Pulse air is wasting about $N/month. | Extra sensor | Compressed-air header (psi and/or SCFM) versus a baseline for that housing. Dollar uses a plant air cost (Camfil file or a default $/SCF). | Print “air not wired.” Do not estimate leak from pulse count alone in this seat — pulse count without a header is a maintenance clue, not a bill. |
| Outlet dust is climbing; possible broken bag. | Extra sensor | Broken-bag / emissions 4–20 mA, plus the emission-alarm contact if landed. | No emissions sentence. ΔP does not see a torn bag until the hopper and the stack already did. |
| Here is two years of this curve. | We kept the frames | The same ΔP frames Connect already gets, retained. Office is the retention SKU. | If Jonesboro only keeps 14 days, Office cannot sell two years. That is a Jonesboro decision, not a sensor. |
| Who watched this housing on Sunday. | We kept the frames | Fan-run contact + stored frames. The log is the product. | Without the contact, Sunday is “gateway was up,” which is not what the broker asked. |
| One filter PO for the plant, not one per hopper. | Camfil file | Site grouping (which serials belong to Arcadia) plus each housing’s remaining-life date. | Fall back to Connect’s per-housing order. Still useful. Not what the plant manager signs. |
| Arcadia needs filters. Helix sanding needs a drum dump. Finish mill is quiet. | We kept the frames | More than one gateway, tagged to sites. Same stream. A list. | A single-site Office is still the plant board. Fleet is how corporate EHS buys it. |
| This housing handles combustible dust. | Not from GoldLink+ | A DHA (Kst, Pmax, Pmin, moisture) and an owner. GoldLink+ does not sample the dust. | Office may reprint the file’s flag, labeled “on file.” It will not diagnose NFPA 660 from ΔP. |
| The fan is drawing N kW. | Extra sensor | VFD analog or Modbus. GoldLink Connect (EMEA) already does this. US GoldLink+ does not unless the inverter is landed. | Hide kW. Do not convert rpm or ΔP into energy and call it measured. |
| Gateway dark — no frames. | Base box | Heartbeat (proposed 5 min) and RSSI. Cellular, not a ping on plant Ethernet. | If the radio is dead we know nothing else. That is the first Office sentence. |
| Filters were changed on 12 Mar 2026. | We kept the frames | A ΔP reset at the setpoint, stored. Not a scanned work order unless they ack it in Connect. | Without history, there is no changeout calendar. Connect can still say “order now.” |
Sensor by sensor
Standard on the published US box is ΔP and ambient temperature. Everything else is an add. Connect and Office use the same loops.
| Loop | Office gets | Office does not | This demo |
|---|---|---|---|
Filter ΔP (stage 1) 4–20 mA · 0–10 in. w.c. typical · on every GoldLink+ (published standard) | Filter life, changeout date, the shape of two years, the high-ΔP alarm. | Which SKU, hopper level, a leak, a torn bag, combustible classification. | All five housings. |
Ambient temperature 4–20 mA · published standard with ΔP | Cabinet/room condition. A frozen or cooked panel. | Airstream temperature (that is a different optional loop). Process dust temp. | All five. |
Fan run Dry contact · must be landed | Ran on Sunday. Operating hours. Slope computed on running days only. | Why it was off. Interlock vs. lunch vs. a tripped starter. | All five (assumed landed). |
Hopper / drum level 4–20 mA · 0–100% · extra sensor | Empty the drum. Stop packing filters. Site-level “who needs a dump.” | A percentage from ΔP. If the loop is missing, Office is silent. | All five in this demo. Real plants often skip it — then we hide it. |
Compressed air use / header 4–20 mA SCFM and/or psi · extra sensor | The dollar on a leaking pulse valve. Night-shift “listen at the header.” | A leak estimate from pulse count. Helix has no air loop — Office says so. | Arcadia press and laser. Not mini (psi only). Not Helix. |
Outlet dust / broken bag 4–20 mA · extra sensor + optional alarm contact | Possible torn media. The sentence EHS actually wants after a complaint. | A stack test. A permit number. Proof of compliance by itself. | Arcadia press and laser, Helix sanding. Not mini, not finish mill. |
Pulse count Count / discrete fire · extra or from the timer | Cleaning is frantic or asleep. A clue next to ΔP. | The air bill. A failed diaphragm until air or ΔP agrees. | Arcadia all, Helix finish. Not sanding. |
Fan kW / rpm Inverter analog or Modbus · GoldLink Connect in EMEA | Energy, damper/VFD story, “the fan is not at the design point.” | A utility rebate. A measured kWh without the VFD. | Arcadia all, Helix finish. Not sanding (legacy baghouse). |
Airlock / rotary valve 4–20 mA or zero-speed · extra | The valve stopped. Hopper will climb next. | A jammed airlock from hopper % alone — that is a guess. | Not wired on this fleet. Office hides it. |
The wire
Analog. 4–20 mA loops. 4 mA = live-zero (0 in. w.c., 0% hopper). 20 mA = span. A broken wire drops below 4 mA and is a fault, not a clean filter.
Discrete. Dry contacts, 0 / 24 V. Fan run, pulse fire, hopper high, airlock moving, emission alarm — only if landed.
Radio. Gateway digitizes, stamps, encrypts, ships LTE/3G TLS. Isolated from plant Ethernet. Proposed: 60 s telemetry, immediate on alarm, 5 min heartbeat.
Format. No official JSON or CSV spec. We ask for HTTPS POST of a JSON frame (see Connect → Feed). CSV is the customer export, not the wire. MQTT is a fine alternate with the same body. Open the JSON.
Retention. Raw 90 days · hourly 2 years · daily forever. That retention is Office. Connect can live on 90 days.
What we will not print
- A Dust Hazard Analysis, a Kst, a Pmax, or an NFPA 660 determination.
- That the explosion vents are aimed correctly, or that isolation is installed.
- That the plant is “in compliance” or “safe to occupy.”
- A stack test, an OSHA citation, or an insurance certificate.
- Filter SKU or price from the analog loop.
- Hopper level or air-leak dollars without those sensors.
- Operator exposure or breathing-zone risk. Camfil’s public page lists this as an advantage. ΔP and a stack sensor are not a personal sample. Office will not print it as measured.
- A competitor replacement spec from a ΔP graph. (The retrofit is the beachhead. The steel is a later conversation.)
- That Camfil has opened this stream. They have not published a public API. This seat is the product we would run if Jonesboro does.
Walk this in a meeting
1 · Say what the login is
Connect is the mezzanine. Office is the desk. Same boxes. Paul and Dana do not climb the collector to know if the laser is leaking air.
2 · Open the fleet
Five housings, two plants. One sentence each. Helix sanding is a competitor baghouse with GoldLink in the panel — that is on purpose.
3 · Point at a blank
Helix has no compressed-air number. We did not invent one. That is how you keep Jonesboro out of trouble.
4 · Open two years
The sawtooth is changeouts. The box did not store that. We did. That is the $249.
5 · Write the plant PO
SKU from the serial, date from the slope, one ship-to. Connect can order a hopper. Office orders the plant.
6 · Hand them the pack
Cover sheet plus 90-day CSV. Read the disclaimer out loud: not a DHA. Then show combustible is labeled “on file.”
7 · Do not oversell
Managed is Camfil watching it and shipping media. That is the next SKU. Office does not ship filters by itself.
